Karpaz Peninsula Beachs
Karpas Peninsula beaches
If you would like to experience soaking in the beauty of the unspoilt nature of the Karpas beaches all by yourself with no interruptions, then you are very likely to reach your aim. As the Karpas region is quite a distance away for most of the Turkish Cypriots who do not live there, it is possible to enjoy a day at the beach here with just you and your family.
At the start of the peninsula is Kaplıca beach, a remote and clean beach with no ugly and overcrowded set of buildings surrounding it, apart from the shell of an old hotel which is no longer in business. Sadly, the Karpas Peninsula is one of the last few beach front areas in Europe which can still claim this.
If you prefer to visit a beach which can also count public showers and restaurants amongst its services, then the public beach of Yeni Erenköy is for you. For those of you who like a challenge and tougher swimming conditions, the Karpaz beach is just a distance of 3km away.
Although the south coast of Karpas has a great range of sandy beaches, it is important to remember that a majority of them do not offer any services such as changing rooms or showers and they are not the easiest of beaches to reach. If you harbour a interest in wildlife, then the perfect place to visit is the Golden Sands Beach, the breeding location of the sea turtles. It is a great way to observe how they live, however, they must not be bothered in order to not to frighten them away from our coasts.
