WEATHER IN KYRENIA NORTHERN CYPRUS

What is the temperature like in North Cyprus?
Dont forget to pack your much needed swimming costume if you are going as early as May, as the weather begins to soar up to 25 degrees and works its way up to a sweltering 40 degrees during July, the hottest month of the year. Dont worry about feeling too hot between the cooling off sessions in the pools though as most local cafes and restuarants have very effective air conditioning systems that will you have feeling refreshed in no time. Nighttime is considerably cooler where the temperatures drop down to a warm 21 degrees, guranteeing a good nights sleep!
Dont worry about missing out on the sunshine if you cant make it during the summer months as even as late as October the temperature averages 26 degrees. Just in time for a much needed break for the whole family during school half term!
Winter begins to show its face after the second week of November and carries on until March where the temperatures begin to rise in preparation for a sizzling summer.
The summers of North Cyprus

Even cooler temperatures can be found on higher ground, so be sure to save a day dedicated to reaching the top of Kyrenias many mountain tops and admire the view whilst surrrounded by unspoilt nature.
The winters of North Cyprus
If your looking for a place where you can escape the grey and miserable skies during your winter months, why not visit Northern Cyprus, where even during the bleakest winter months it is possible to soak in up to six hours of sunshine a day! No need to pack heavy duty winter coats as the temperatures tend to stay above 5 degrees and snow is a rare sight. If you would like to experience snow here, the best place to go would be the Kyrenia mountains, but hurry as it soon melts!
Dont worry about the occasionaly rainfall ruining the day as the average day-time temperature is a very pleasant 16 degrees. As the winter season is very dry, this is the least of your problems , with only 500ml of rainfall as a average. This number may rise up to 750ml up in the mountains but not on the mainland, so no need to reach for the umbrella!
Suitable clothes for the winter and spring months
As even the coldest winter days are warm, there is no need to pack very heavy and thick winter clothing. Be prepared for weather changes during your day out by carrying a jacket with you so you can concentrate on taking in all the beautiful views with no interruptions! The evenings and nighttime get slighty cooler so its advisable to dress warmer but be sure to know the locals friendly smiles will definitely warm you up!
There is a definite increase in temperature as spring approaches so coats are no longer needed. A thin jacket or an umbrella should be enough to keep you warm and protect you from the rain. Come May, no extra layers are neccesary as the first signs of summer approach.
Suitable clothes for the summer
Keep in mind the summer months of North Cyprus are very hot so make sure the clothes you pack with you help you protect yourself from the sun. Also extra accessories such as sunglasses, hats and a high numbered sunscreen are important in such a high temperature climate, even in the cooler shade. Take a occasional break from the sun by stopping by at the harbour side cafes and restaurants for a cold drink and tasty local snack accompanied by the gentle breeze of the sea, helped even more by the large fans most of these open cafés now provide.
As October approaches the weather begins to cool, especially at night, so it is wise to bring thin jackets to keep you warm.
