Kyrenia Beaches
What transforms your holiday into your ideal, dream holiday? Sun, sea and sand? If the answer is yes then you must explore the Western Kyrenia coastline, with plenty of beaches just metres away from your hotel room.
West of Kyrenia
If you have visited Northern Cyprus with young children, then the Altinkaya beach is a very safe option as it has shallow seas, mainly due to the nearby miniscule island of Golden Rock, protecting the beach from the open sea. It’s very convenient as it’s possible to go as far as the beach with your hire car.
The Denizkızı is a popular and very clean beach owned by the hotel of the same name in Alsancak. For a small entrance fee you are also able to use the hotels swimming pool and other facilities.
If you are not a fan of the sticky sand gluing itself to your skin as you enjoy your sunbathing sessions, then we recommend the Horseshoe Beach, where pebbles of all shapes and colours cover the beach. You can also squeeze in a bit of historical sightseeing if you choose to visit the Horseshoe beach, as it very closely located to the only Persian palace of the Mediterranean at Vouni East of the city of Kyrenia.
If you like to visit top of the range, spotless locations then the Acapulco holiday village, complete with a beach and swimming pools is the place you want to be. It is identical to all the perfect beachfronts adorning the pages of holiday brochures, with its clean blue water, golden sands and rocky slopes by the sea. Both Acapulco beach and Escape beach offer one of the best water sports services you can find on the island. It is easy to spend a whole day and night without getting bored at these venues as they count bars, restaurants and night clubs within their services.
The Vouge Beach Club is a young venue, which opened to the public in 2006. Despite being only a minute drive away from the popular Acapulco, the Vouge Beach Club has quickly gained its own young crowd. If you like to treat yourself to some luxury every now and then, there is a Jacuzzi and large pool to relax in, and a fabulous restaurant and ice- cream bar to keep your energy levels on the up, for when you build up your courage to try out the water sports such as banana rides, water skiing, jet skiing and canoeing.
Let your kids get in touch with their adventurous side as they explore amongst the rocks along the coast at Lara beach while you take a refreshing swim in the blue waters.
Alagadi beach (also known as Turtle beach due to the turtles coming here to lay their eggs) is one of the most well known beaches on the island, and attracts many locals as it is a public beach with no entrance fee. This beach boasts of having the longest length of sandy beaches on the Northern Coast as well as views of the Five Finger Mountains to die for.
